What has become of the microscopic camera of Oppo mobiles

Last year 2021 Oppo surprised us by launching the first mobile with a microscopic camera, this came to revolutionize high-end cameras. In recent weeks we are getting to know the characteristics of its successor, the Find X5 Pro, and the reality is that they are leaving us quite disappointed.Basically because the revolutionary microscopic camera has disappeared.Around Oppo's phone camera we have known a lot of news recently, and what has attracted the most attention is that it will be the first under the collaboration of the Chinese manufacturer together with Hasselblad, a prestigious photography firm that until now had only collaborated with OnePlus. That is what we ask ourselves, because it seems quite strange to us that all the information we have known about this new phone does not contemplate the existence of a microscopic sensor in the camera. In fact, it is the same camera that the Oppo Find X3 Pro had, but without this sensor.Something that seems out of all consistency, when this was one of the most distinctive features of the brand's high-end phone. With it, photos could be taken with results similar to those of a microscope, being able to capture objects and organisms completely out of sight, and only visible through this type of sensor.Well, the reality is that it would not make any sense to do without precisely the sensor that distinguishes you from your competitors, and even less to repeat the same sensors that were in the camera of its previous top of the range, which would de facto launch a phone with a worse camera. This sensor at the moment has not been seen in another model, so we could come to think that Oppo has left it aside, either because it has not had enough acceptance and users have not seen it useful, or because of a simple shortage of supplies, something increasingly common in the market. But we point to another possibility, which in the medium term could be much more logical seeing in which direction the market is moving.A few weeks ago we speculated on the arrival of a OnePlus 10 Ultra, to offer a more advanced camera configuration, something that was confirmed shortly after with the first features of this phone. Now we think in a similar way with the Oppo Find X5 Pro. And it is that seeing the configuration and features that have been leaked so far, it seems that the brand is saving something. With a Pro model, with a good camera, the one from last year, but that would be accompanied by an Ultra model, to be launched in the second half of the year.In that case, it would make sense to dispense with the microscope sensor in the standard model, and provide it to the Ultra. In this way, this latest information would make sense, which indicates that this sensor will not be in the new top of the brand's range.Of course, the most pragmatic option should not be ruled out, and that is that Oppo has not seen this sensor travel in its phones, neither in the high range, nor in the average.
