The Al Aziziya branch of the British International Dental Centre was officially launched yesterday. The branch of the dental care centre, which is a few metres from the Sports City metro station, was inaugurated by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Qatar H E Jon Wilks.

The dental centre offers cutting-edge care with state-of-the-art technology and techniques including teeth whitening, root canals, dental spa, veneers, cosmetic dentistry, implant, gum lift, laser dentistry and others. It also provides computerised crowns facilities for customers within a short period, 3D radiographs using a minimal dosage of radiation, laser, and the operating microscope.

During the launch, Ambassador Wilks hailed Qatar and the UK’s expanding relations and the increasing number of British citizens in Qatar, which has reached around 20,000.

He said this is a result of the growth in Qatar, its economy and its diverse community. He added that opening the highly modern dental centre further strengthens this relationship and Qatar-UK’s historical ties.

Dr. Sarah Aalders, the centre’s CEO and owner, said they offer the best dental care with a customer-centric approach to treatment.

“We have the latest dental technology in the dental centre, and at the moment we have seven dentists, and they’re all very highly educated because we do have very high standards and we like to work very much as a team. We want to expand, and we are hoping to bring in about another five more dentists,” Dr. Aalders said.

“A lot of the technology provides extra safety for the patient. What we offer makes it more interesting for the patients because they can see the work that we’re doing for them. It’s also more convenient for the patient — we can take scans of your teeth instead of impressions. It’s a lot more comfortable for the patients. An impression can be quite uncomfortable, especially when it’s being pulled out. So a scan is just quick, and it’s just like having a photo taken of your teeth and then you can see it too. So you get to ask more questions or understand more what we’re doing for the patients, which I think is important because patients can make informed choices.”

The centre also provides a one year guarantee for all permanent dental treatment completed including the West Bay branch.
