Ponta Grossa State University (UEPG) delivered equipment to undergraduate and graduate departments and sectors. In total, there are 111 pieces of equipment, intended for eleven departments, with an investment of approximately R$ 310 thousand. The delivery was made to some rooms of the courses and will be finalized in the next few weeks, according to schedule. The delivery took place this year with a view to the return of face-to-face classes, in February 2022. “At this moment of the return of face-to-face activities, there is a lot of expectation from all sectors, so we understand that we need to give the conditions so that this return can happen from best possible way”, highlighted the pro-rector of graduation, Carlos Willians Jaques Morais. For him, the objective of renewing the equipment is to promote quality training for academics.“I appreciate Proad's support in making the purchases. This is the result of the union of a whole team that gives us the possibility to promote the formation of more quality”, he said.“Since the beginning of the management, we have sought to face each of the needs we have, and here is a small sample of the material that was acquired in 2019 and 2020”, highlighted the pro-rector of Proad, Ivo Mottin Demiate.Equipment, such as oscilloscopes and scales, will support practical classes.“This return to face-to-face, for us, is quite emblematic and will be organized. Our idea is to encourage everyone so that we come back motivated with this investment”.Ivo adds that the investments are not over.“We were able to buy some things that were requested of us, but we are still looking to acquire the rest that we need,” he said.Professor Miguel Sanches Neto, dean of UEPG, highlighted the importance of investing in undergraduate and graduate courses for teaching.“That's why we made this purchase. The idea is to continue buying the necessary equipment for teaching, this is the project that has been taking place since 2019, seeking to meet the needs of the departments and graduate programs,” he said. The dean informs that the delivery refers to the purchases of a first batch.“We received R$ 3.4 million in resources, which we will use to make more purchases for the courses. We are trying to leave all laboratories and departments with new equipment, in the sense of providing good conditions for the face-to-face return”, he said.Fabiana Postiglioni Mansani, director of the Biological and Health Sciences Sector (Sebisa-UEPG), thanked the sector for the equipment.“They will serve to develop the activities of our future professionals. Some equipment was obsolete, which made learning more complicated,” she celebrated. For the teacher, the acquisition provides opportunities for teachers to give new learning options to students.“It will help a lot in the training of our academics, this brings back the importance of basic disciplines in professional training”.Cássia Gonçalves Magalhães, head of the Chemistry Department, emphasizes that the acquisition of equipment will bring a gain in student learning.“The department attends 17 courses and we have a demand for the use of this equipment. With this, the quality of classes will be maintained and even improved,” she said. The head of the Physics Department, Francisco Carlos Serbena, says that the department attends 11 courses with the equipment.“Many of the subjects are experimental within our laboratories, so this equipment will help in the quality of classes and also in the replacement of equipment that is already older”, he added. The equipment was allocated to 11 departments: Department of Structural, Molecular and Genetic Biology (Debiogem);Department of Medicine (Demed);Department of Clinical Analysis (Declin);Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Defar);Department of General Biology (Debio);Department of Plant Science and Plant Health (Defito);Department of Food Engineering (Dea);Department of Informatics (Deinfo);Department of Arts (Deartes);Department of Physics (Defis);and Department of Chemistry (Dequim). The 111 pieces of equipment include a binocular microscope with infinite correction optics (10);trinocular microscope with
